GM launches Chevrolet Beat in Jaipur

General Motors India has launched its brand new Chevrolet Beat diesel hatchback in Jaipur. Chevrolet Beat diesel is one of the most fuel efficient cars in India. The all new Chevrolet Beat diesel is targeted at Indian consumers and it is the best in the segment.

President and Managing Director of General Motors India, Mr. Karl Slym said, the new Chevrolet Beat diesel has the best design and ultimate fuel efficiency. It is expected that this hatchback will set a new benchmark in the Indian car market. In spite of the downfall seen in the sales of the Indian car market, General Motors India has launched Chevrolet Beat diesel and is set to launch 3 new car models in India.

GM plans to launch three new cars in the year 2012. The new cars will include a hatchback, an SUV and a sedan. However, there has been no official launch date provided by General Motors India. It is expected that GM India is planning to launch the new cars with brand new Chevrolet Tavera that would be launched by the end of this year. The new Chevrolet Tavera is essentially the Euro IV variant.



Among the new cars slated for release, some of the car models are likely to come from SAIC Motors villages, the Chinese business associate of GM India. The R&D team in Bangalore in cooperation with the designing team is working in full swing. Apart from this, the company is also working on localization of their upcoming cars, which will suit the Indian conditions.

GM India to showcase Chevrolet Beat Electric Vehicle on June 23

After the break throb success of small cars from General Motors India, plans adding to surprise are to introduce new model is an electric car titled as Chevrolet Beat Electric which is all set to get uncovered on 23 of this month. The most awaited electric variant from General Motors India is all prepared to introduce this new hatchback car in a view to beat up the inflated petrol prices.

As according to the company official man, GM India aims to showcase their technology and create test drives for a few people and the vehicles will be collected here from parts designed and sourced globally. Further, the company is not in hurry to launch Chevrolet Beat Electric hatchback immediately as they do not have the right charging infrastructure for EVs in India yet.

Reports reveals that the electric version of Chevrolet Beat would comprise a range of around 130 km and batteries would take just around eight hours to get charge. The electric motor is expected to produce power of 45 kW (about 60 hp) which is equally powerful if compared to present Hatchback car in the market.

Consequently, American automobile giant General Motors’ India recently announced much talked Chevrolet Beat in Diesel variant that can offer 24kmpl fuel efficiency which is expected to be done very soon, most probably in the coming year.

Karl Slym, President and Managing Director, GMI states that until now they did not had much grip on small cars in India just because of not having any diesel variant but now they are to bring Chevrolet Beat in Diesel variant.

Chevrolet Beat diesel launch inches ahead to July

General Motors India is an Indian tributary of American Multinational Automotive make a proclamation on the launch of all new Chevrolet Beat that its launch has been delayed to July, 2011 earlier which was about to launch in June 2011. As per reports, General Motors was going to launch Chevrolet Beat Diesel by June, 2011. In addition to this it is also reported that the recent strike at the manufacturing unit of General Motors is the main reason for its delay. Yet the company has not unveiled the reasons behind this delay.

Furthermore, speculations are made that General Motors India will send off the diesel variant of new Chevrolet Beat in the first week of July, 2011 due to the regular hike in petrol prices and a another rise is been scheduled with in next couple of days. Worthwhile the fuel efficiency of the Chevrolet Beat diesel is supposed to be more than other cars in this segment. Like Tata Indica Vista delivers an mileage of 25 Kmpl, then Chevrolet Beat Diesel expected to offer 26 Kmpl which is 1 Km more.

The competition starts and become tough when Tata launch its new hatchback car Tata Nano next year which is also known as a tycoon of small cars in India. As per sources $230 million is spend by the General Motors for the establishment of new diesel engine unit which have a capacity of 1.6 lakh unit per annum. In addition to this it is expected that General Motors is going to release six new cars in all car segments by 2012.
