Unlocked iPhone With T-Mobile in USA

We all know that AT&T will soon be acquiring T-Mobile and Apple has shown no signs of bringing iphone to the latter, but this has not stopped the customer from unlocking the iPhone and using it on T-Mobile. T-Mobile USA today reported that more than a million iPhones are currently active on their network, just ahead of the Pepcom event in NYC.

When asked for further details T-Mobile responded by saying that most of the handsets were pre-iPhone 4s mainly because the 3G and 4G data speeds of T-mobile cannot be received on an iPhone 4 due to radio difference between the networks. T-Mobile also does not provide Micro- SIM, so people using an iPhone 4 have to modify their SIM cards into Micro-SIMs. Unlocked iPhone 4s where announced by Apple just a few weeks back but that has not increased the number of iPhone 4 users on T-Mobile because of the above issues.

When asked about availability of Micro SIMs on T-Mobile, they replied by saying that it will be coming shortly maybe after the deal with AT&T is finalized .

BGR got hold of a source who was able to snap off some photos of the upcoming device, codenamed Doubleshot, in the wild. Aside from comparing the device’s speed to the original myTouch 4G, the source also claimed the 4G Slide ran “just as smoothly as the HTC Sensation ” Confirmed is an 8MP camera, Sense UI 3.0, and Android 2.3.4. The screen isn’t said to be much, and the Android keys and keyboard are compared to those of the G2. The insider pegged early July as the estimated launch date for the phone.

Initially known as HTC Doubleshot, the unannounced T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide has finally appeared in some photos. Although they don’t show the handset in all its glory, said photos confirm that the smartphone features a sliding QWERTY keyboard, as well as Android Gingerbread (version 2.3.4) and the latest Sense UI 3.0.

BGR (where the new images have been published) has it that the myTouch 4G Slide also comes with an 8MP camera. A dual-core processor should be in there, too, although this hasn’t been confirmed.
