General Motors' most awaited car, Chevrolet Beat Diesel launch is expected in Indian auto market by 2nd week of July. Due to the hike in the petrol prices, this diesel car is anticipated to cater large volumes.

Sources have revealed that this hatchback car will be powered by a 936cc, 3 cylinder engine procuring 57 bhp power at 4000 rpm and an excellent torque of 150 Nm at 1750 rpm. This car is expected to create a milestone as it is the first car having 3-cylinder engine, to be launched into the Indian hatchback segment. Furthermore, its engine is based on ECOTEC technology i.e Emissions Control Optimisation Technology making it environment friendly.
