Renault will inaugrate the the launch of new cars this month by revealing its SUV, Renault Koleos on Thrusday. The french auto major Renault will launch its second car, the first being Renault Fluence launched on May 23 this year, after parting ways with Mahindra and Mahindra. Since then both the companies were working on a new SUV. While Mahindra is set to launch XUV 500 later this month, Renault is ready with its Koleos to be launched on 8th September.

Renault Koleos has already spread its word globally since 2008 and now with its facelifted desiel only variant, Renault Koleos crossover SUV will hit Indian roads for the first time. Renault is also looking frward for the launch of 4 new cars till the end of 2012. A range of Rs. 16-18 lakh is speculated to be the Renault Koleos price range. Koleos features comfortable interiors with leather upholstery to keep intact the sporty look. Along with this Cruise controls, Bose surround Music system and speed limiter is provided with the SUV. A 2 litre Dci 1995cc Euro IV engine exhibiting 150 bhp power is combined with six-speed automatic gearbox in order to transmit power to the wheels at every gearshift.

The Indian subsidiary of French auto biggie Renault is planning launch its new SUV Renault Koleos in India by the end of September. It is expected that Renault will unveil its first SUV in India at the Frankfurt Motor show next month. In a way to mark the forthcoming Renault Koleos launch company has launched a website which features the details of both Renault Fluence sedan and Renault Koleos SUV. Renault India is looking to foray in the SUV segment with this upgraded Renault Koleos SUV. The czars in this segment like Toyota Fortunner, Chevrolet Captiva and Mitsubishi Outlander are the major rivals of this new Koleos SUV. Yet company has not unveiled the Renault Koleos price but tt is expected that Renault will tag the Renault koleos price around Rs 20 lakh.

As for new Renault Koleos specifications, this SUV is likely to come powered with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder 14 valve DCi diesel engine which will churn out the maximum power of 110 PS @ 4000 rpm and the peak torque of 320 Nm. In addition to this it is also expected that the Koleos SUV will features a Bose sound system, a four-wheel drive, leather seats, rear side mirrors along with LED indicators and cruise control.

Renault India has started its operations in India in 2005 at its headquarter in Mumbai and the company came up with its first car in India under its belt christened Renault Fluence in the month of May 2011. However, with the Mahindra Motors, Renault had launched Mahindra Renault Logan, which was re-launched with its upgraded version as Mahindra Verito. At present Renault Fluence is the only car under the portfolio of Renault India and company is all set to enhance its portfolio with the addition of this SUV Renault Koleos. Apart from this SUV, Renault is also planning to launch three more cars in India. Company is looking to made an entry in hatchback segment with its small compact cars as hatchback segment is one of the most competitive segment in India.
