Maruti Suzuki India is the largest car manufacturer in India. Maruti India has shown a glimpse Maruti R3 in the auto expo 2010 which is now going to be renamed as Maruti Ertiga MPV. Maruti India is now planning to show Maruti Ertiga MPV in auto expo 2012 in Delhi. The Maruti Ertiga price is not yet revealed but it is expected that the Maruti Ertiga price will fall in the range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. The Maruti Ertiga MPV will be popular in both passenger segment and taxi segment.The main competitors of Maruti Ertiga MPV will be Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, and Tata Sumo Grande. The competition will mainly arise in case of price as Toyota Innova is coming in the price range of Rs 8.35 lakh to 12.61 lakh. Mahindra Xylo is coming in the same price tag as Maruti Ertiga MPV. Tata Sumo Grande is cheaper than Maruti Ertiga MPV whose price is starting from Rs 5.80 lakh. The Maruti Ertiga MPV specifications reveal that Maruti Ertiga MPV will be a 6 to 7 seater car. It will be launched in petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant will consist of 1.4 litres K-series engine which will produce about 87 BHP of power and 130 Nm of torque. The diesel variant will consist of 1.3 litres multijet diesel engine which will produce about 90 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque.The Maruti Ertiga price will be in the range of Rs 7 lakh to 9 lakh which makes the car cheaper in the MPV segment.
Maruti India is keen to enter the MPV market which is currently dominated by Toyota Innova. The Maruti Ertiga is based on Maruti Ritz platform.
